Work Time
- We will begin class by discussing feminism.
- Partner work (take notes)
- Discuss your positive and negative associations with the term feminism. Remember to listen openly to each other's thoughts.
- Find a quote/definition about feminism or women that you find to be over the top or humorous in some way. Example: As Pat Robertson famously said at the 1992 Republican Convention, "Feminism encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians."
- We will share our quotes and open discussion as a whole class.
- If there is time, we will watch a parody video or two.
Closure: How does literature tie into all this? What part has literature played in the feminist movement over time? It is okay if you are not quite sure about this yet...
